Your Lie in April is a comic about a young pianist, Kosei. After a traumatizing past with his deceased mother, he is no longer able to play the piano. When he meets a genius violinist, his life begins to change.
The intriguing story is a page turner, and you can almost hear the classical music that the characters play through the illustrations. Packed with youthfulness, friendship, romance, and growth, this comic will leave you deeply moved as you finish the series.
At first glance, the cute delicate illustrations make you think it is a girl’s comic, and yet, surprisingly, this is on a boy’s magazine. This is because girls will be able to enjoy the pure young love story, and boys will be able to enjoy the competition between Kosei and his rivals. I recommend this comic for all boys and girls, young and old.
If you have already seen the movie and decided to put this comic down, I would strongly urge you to still read the comic as well. There are many aspects of the comic that could not be depicted in the film, therefore the comic is a must read. – Yoshiko Fujishiro
