Meet Azusa Tanaka, author of Subject Librarians: Unpacking Their Roles in American Academic Libraries, at our Seattle store

Azusa Tanaka is a Japanese Studies Librarian at University of Washington. MA in International Studies from University of Washington. MSLIS from Syracuse University. Her recent publication, Subject Librarians: Unpacking Their Roles in American Academic Libraries, introduces all about subject librarianship in the U.S. academic libraries including its history, qualification, career steps, and day to day work.

At the book talk event, Azusa will talk about the differences between Japanese and US academic libraries, how to became a librarian, and some of the dramatic experiences she has had as a librarian.   

ライブラリアンとして、ワシントン大学セントルイス東アジア図書館勤務を経て、13年よりワシントン大学東アジア図書館にて勤務している田中あずささん。今回、著書『サブジェクト・ライブラリアン 海の向こうアメリカの学術図書館の仕事』の出版を機に、日米学術図書館の違いやライブラリアンとしての関心事、またどうやってライブラリアンになったのかを語っていただきます。
