Jay Rubin will be joining us to talk about his newest book from Toyo Keizai titled Murakami Haruki to Watashi, or Haruki Murakami and Me. Dr. Rubin and his translations of prolific Japanese authors from Akutagawa to Soseki have garnered praise from the English literary world. In this essay collection, he explores the foundation of his passion for Japanese literature, the challenges of translation, and his fateful encounter with the works of Haruki Murakami.

This event will mainly be in Japanese, but we welcome all guests to join and ask their questions!
