“Don’t judge a book by its cover.” Most people are aware of this common phrase and try their best to value the inner workings of a human being. Placing more importance on how they act, commit, treat others, as well as their general skills, talents, and hobbies. Magazine B’s Founder Suyong Joh explains how this policy should also relate to companies in this 2020 interview. Celebrities often tend to be beautiful and cool at face value, but we don’t always ask ourselves what type of positivity they bring to the world. Magazine B looks for this same balance in the brands that they select to cover. Google, Audi, Ikea, Moleskine…the list goes on. In fact, “B” has evaluated at least 87 recognizable brands over 87+ non-traditional issues, allowing the publishers to maintain all issues in print at once.

Founder Suyong Joh didn’t just stop at magazines. He wants to continue spreading the good word over the Korean podcast series aptly named B Cast. Much like the magazine, B Cast takes on one major brand per episode. Naturally, the pandemic regarding COVID-19 has negatively affected every life on the planet. This global event touched the producers of Magazine B, which inspired the release of The Home issue. Being confined to our homes made us all realize how important our private space can be.

Categorized by similar values, The Home, provides a spotlight to reveal the distinct attitude or aura of the private home. Instead of looking into a house to judge it’s physical appeal, Magazine B takes a deeper, more intimate look into what makes that home special to its owner. Whether it be a “home office” or “rural life,” the issue paints a lovely picture about what makes a house a home.
F = Food
