Born by chance.
Fueled by madness.
Ignited by love.
"A dynamite Read" —Andreas Schroeder, author of The Eleventh Commandment
Meet Billy Deerborn, a man whose fractured mind converses with voices and the phantom dogs that haunt his psyche. Abandoned as a baby, his life has become a powder keg waiting to explode. Yesterday, he detonated a power station, setting the stage for a chilling odyssey into madness.
Fire Eyes weaves a chilling tale between these two pivotal moments. Born into a life of uncertainty, Billy's journey unfolds from foster homes to institutions, and ultimately into the heart of the US Army, where he's both hero and outcast.
At the center of his turbulent universe stands his girlfriend, Renee Stark, a disenchanted employee in the city's electric company. An insider privy to the secrets of the grid, she harbors the knowledge to cripple the regional power supply. Together, they become unlikely partners in a chilling plot of terror, a scheme neither could enact alone.
A Books in Canada / W.H. Smith First Novel Award finalist, Fire Eyes unveils a harrowing tale of mental unraveling, revealing the armed forces as unwitting custodians of those who slip through society's cracks. It is a story of love's paradoxical power—to both annihilate and redeem.
