Universalism and Particularism at Sodom and Gomorrah : Essays in Memory of Ron Pirson

Pirson arranged a session on Genesis 18-19 for the January 2006 conference of the International Society of Biblical Literature, but died before it was held. Here are 12 essays based on the presentations there, including his own, which was read by a colleague. They discuss the ethics of preference, justice by the book, and the ethics of hospitality. The volume also includes tributes to him from his life partner and a colleague. Annotation 2012 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
