About the Authors
Stephanie Evangelista Fukuda is an illustrator, comic artist, and writer born and raised in Queens, New York. Much of her inspiration is drawn from her childhood of playing bright colorful video games, watching whimsical animated movies, as well as daily experiences within the fast paced city.
Daigo Fukuda is a New York City-based illustrator. Growing up exposed to both American and Japanese media, his inspiration comes from a blend of comic book styles. The influences of graphic novels and manga show in his specialization in linework-based pieces, both traditional and digital, and his interest in storytelling. Graduated from FIT with a BFA in Illustration.
Synopsis
It’s the first day of high school, and Cherie is unsure how to find her place. But then she meets Naomi, a fellow freshman and fan of Orange High School Bakery Club―Cherie’s favorite anime. Naomi’s warmth and confidence ignite confusing feelings in Cherie. Their duo becomes a trio when they befriend Miro, a boy in their class with an interest in learning about anime.
Enter Jenny: a charismatic upperclassman and president of the school’s anime club. When she invites the three friends to join, it creates tension between them. As Cherie, Naomi, and Miro deal with complicated feelings, can their special bond survive? And will their love of anime endure?
