At Kinokuniya Book Stores of America Co., we are dedicated to providing our customers with an exceptional shopping experience. To ensure your satisfaction with your purchases, we offer a comprehensive return policy as outlined below. Please be aware that specific conditions and guidelines must be followed for the return process:

  1. General Return Policy: Most products, excluding those listed below, are eligible for return within 30 days of purchase.

  2. Product Exclusions and Restrictions: The following items cannot be returned:

    • Blind Boxes and Blind Merchandise

    • Trading Cards

    • Cosmetics, Hand Cream, Lip Balm, and Fragrances

    • Magazines

    • Final Sale Items

    • Gift Cards

    • Kitchenware, including but not limited to dishware, chopsticks, utensils, mug cups, and cookware

    • Specially ordered items sourced exclusively for a customer

  3. Condition of Products: To return an item, ensure it is in its original saleable condition. Specific conditions for different product categories include, but are not limited to:

    • Manga: Must be in its original shrink-wrapped condition. Exceptions may be made for returns due to purchasing errors if the manga is in mint condition and shows no signs of having been read.

    • Collectible figures, key chains, and charms: Intact seals and undamaged packaging.

    • Fountain pens: New condition without ink residue, scratches, or damage.

    • Apparel: Unworn, unwashed, with original tags attached.

    • Plushies: New condition with all tags intact, showing no signs of use.

  4. Refunds: Items returned with valid proof of purchase will be refunded using the original payment method. Valid proof of purchase includes the itemized original receipt. Bank account statements and credit card statements are not considered valid proof of purchase. Note that shipping and delivery fees are non-refundable.

  5. Returns with Gift Receipt: Returns accompanied by a gift receipt will receive a gift card or an equivalent exchange.

  6. Restocking Fee: Items priced at $200 and above are subject to a restocking fee of $20. This fee is applicable to both refunds and exchanges with other items.

  7. Purchased at Another Kinokuniya Location: Returns can be accepted at any Kinokuniya location. The refund amount will be based on the original store price and sales tax.

  8. Online Purchases and In-Store Returns: Online purchases must be returned through the online return process. Returns for online purchases by mail will incur return shipping costs borne by the customer. Online purchase returns must adhere to the conditions outlined above for each product category.
