Our Carrollton store officially opened its doors on Saturday, February 25!
The Grand Opening was a weekend full of live performances, author events, live music, cosplay contests, and more!
On Saturday, February 25, we started the day with special welcoming speeches by the Mayor of Carrollton, Matthew Marchant, First Vice President of the Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth, Takashi Kubota, and our Store Manager, Shigekazu Watanabe.
The rest of the day was filled with live performances like the taiko drums by Kiyari Daiko and Dondoko Taiko, traditional Yosakoi dancing by Yosakoi Soran, karate demonstration by Genjikai Karate, Kimono fashion show, and cute children's choir by the Cherry Blossoms Choir.
We also had traditional Japanese instrument, Koto, played by the Kotomi-kai.
Author events were also held inside the store with author Polly Holyoke and Haiyan Fan.
On Saturday, February 26, we had a fun live performance by the Project Starlight, where they performed from the hit anime series, Love Live!
We also had voice actors from popular anime series meet and greet fans, and also held a cosplay contest.
Thank you to all who participated in our amazing Grand Opening of the Carrollton location!
We hope everyone had fun as much as we did.
