Join Koji Suzuki, author of the Ring series, for a talk and Q & A session with moderator Josh Sippie, creator of MangaCraft at Kinokuniya New York on Thursday, May 29th at 6:30pm! The event will be followed up with a signing event, and Koji Suzuki's books, Ring, Spiral, Loop, S, Dark Water, Birthday, and Edge will be available in English and select books in Japanese to get autographed!

About Koji Suzuki

Koji Suzuki

Born in 1957 in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka prefecture. Graduated from the Department of French literature in Faculty of Letters at Keio University. In 1990, Suzuki’s debut novel “Rakuen (Paradise)” won the Superior Award of the Japan Fantasy Novel Award.

The series of “Ring”, “Rasen (Spiral)”, “Loop”, and “Birthday” became best sellers with total sales of eight million copies. Among his novels that were adapted into films in Japan, “Ring (The Ring)” and “Honogurai mizu no sokokara (Dark Water)” were remade in Hollywood. “Seize the day”, “Edge” and “Kotetsu no sakebi (Cry of Steel)” are among the list of his major works. “Ubiquitous” is his latest novel.

While his wife worked as a high school teacher, Suzuki stayed home to raise their two daughters. He loves physical activities such as yacht sailing, motorcycling, and combat sports. He dreams to sail across the Pacific Ocean some day. His books have been translated into twenty languages. Inside and outside Japan, he occupies himself with lecturing and receiving interviews from overseas media. In July 2013 he became the first Japanese author to win the Shirley Jackson Award, an American literature award.
