Legends and Lore of Sleepy Hollow and the Hudson Valley

New York's Hudson River Valley is steeped in haunted folklore. One of the most famous American ghost stories, Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, was inspired by the region's lore. This book by Kruk, a folklorist, tells stories of hauntings of the Hudson River Valley from the white lady of Raven Rock to the headless Hessians roaming the countryside in search of their lost heads. This book will appeal to the general reader, especially those with an interest in New England folklore. Annotation 2011 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
